it’s time to introduce myself.

That’s me. (Well, a long time ago.) ‏‏

My name is Zoya Khan (زویا خان), and this is my passion project.

Growing up as an ABCD, Urdu was always around me- in conversations, in jokes, in family gatherings. But I didn’t fully understand it. I caught some pieces, I guessed some meanings, and sometimes I just nodded along.

Eventually my parents decided I needed to learn it properly, so I started working with a tutor. At first, it felt like another thing I had to do. But over time, something changed. The more words I learned, the more everything made sense- conversations, poetry, things I had heard my whole life.

Bagh-e-Alfaaz is a way to let anyone in on the progress. One word a day. Real usage. No overwhelming grammar, just building understanding steadily. Built by a high schooler, for anyone.

I’m not here as a perfect speaker. I’m here as someone who once didn’t understand at all, but learned anyway.
