Welcome to your first word!
I thought it would be fitting to explain the site name with our first word- Bagh means “garden”, and bagh-e-alfaaz can be translated to “garden of words”. So far, our little garden only consists of one word…but as we keep going, our garden will bloom and so will our vocabulary!
It’s probably wise to take this opportunity to explain the layout of Bagh-e-Alfaaz. At the very top, you’ll find the word in Urdu script and underneath you can find the romanization of said word. Then, you’ll have a little drawing done by me (hopefully my drawing skills will improve as we go along). Just under the drawing, you’ll see three things— A sentence written in Urdu script (i’ll post a how-to-read basic Urdu soon), a romanization of that sentence, and then the sentence in english. You’ll notice some words underlined in red- that’s the word of the day! Since Urdu reads from right to left, and english reads from left to right, I just wanted to make the word of the day easier to find in each version of the sentence.
Tune in tomorrow for our next word!
